Australia Set to Cease Retirement Visa

According to a statement made by Len Holt - President of the Migration Institute of Australia - Retirement visas will no longer be accepted after June 30 2005. The Retirement visa is set to be replaced by the Regional Investor visa, however requirements for this particular visa are yet to be clarified and should come into effect July 1st 2005.

Those applicants who are already on a Retirement Visa (class 410) or who submit their applications before June 30 will be treated differently, however the Department of Immigration have yet to confirm the changes.
